| | I think Catullus 58 is not well translated in Brazilian Portuguese. It has a very subtle end: "glubit magnanimi Remi nepotes". "glubit" is translated as "despising" (desprezando), but it should be translated by something like "peels", because it probably suggests masturbation or oral sex (and "glubit" is a funny onomatopeia for it). So this translation here by Julio S. Moraes is the opposite of what the poem means.
What is your opinion on this?
